The dusty antique shop, usually a comfort, felt suffocating. Liam traced a finger across the chipped porcelain of a teacup, the coolness offering no solace. He had received the results this morning, and the news had knocked the wind right out of him. He hadn't been sleeping well for weeks, and now he had another thing to worry about. He felt like the energy had been sapped from his cells. He was just tired. He slowly lowered himself onto a creaky wooden stool, the silence of the shop amplifying the frantic beat of his heart.
